NUI Galway’s Engineering Building, designed by Taylor Architects/RMJM, has been voted Ireland’s favourite new building: it was the Public Choice in the RIAI Irish Architecture Awards 2012. WestLAN were awarded the contact to install a 3,500 point Cat6 structured cabling project.
The project included 8 Comms Rooms interconnected with diverse route fibreoptic cable based on a hub-and-spoke design.
The world-class teaching and research facility ushers in a new era for Engineering at the University, which has an excellent reputation in Engineering education.
The building has been designed to be a teaching tool in itself, with exposed construction techniques and an array of ecological building methods
